Vijayawada: BC Welfare Association national president R Krishnaiah demanded Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments to exert pressure on Union government on long pending issue of providing reservations to BCs in legislative bodies.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Krishnaiah called upon Chief Ministers of Telugu states to take delegations to Delhi to raise the issue of reservations to BCs with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “We demand 50 per cent reservations to BCs in Legislative bodies.

The BC reservations in local bodies should be categorised to ensure justice to all castes in BCs,” he asserted. He informed that BC Jatara meeting would be held in Vijayawada, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Kurnool and Anantapur soon demanding reservations. He appealed to BC leaders to come forward cutting across the political affiliations for the cause of BCs.
