Chittoor: While Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is very particular on strengthening the concept of online services, digitalisation, service apps, cashless transactions and internet services, many of the mee seva centres established by TDP Government in 2011 are put into serious crisis due to various reasons.
Meagre salaries and poor response from public are main reasons
The Chittoor mee seva centre was established on November 11, 2002 expending over Rs.10.25 lakh for constructing the building. As the maintenance of the mee seva centres had been entrusted to outsourcing agencies, its growth seems to have come down significantly. Out of 100 services expected to be delivered by them, they hardly have few services right now.
Earlier, there were 10 employees working in Chittoor mee seva centre, now the staff strength has come down to just two ( manager +operator).
The out sourced employees in the mee seva centre receive very meagre salaries. As a result, many of the employees of mee seva have left long back. Due to the poor response from the public to avail the services, many of the centres were running on hard tracks he opined. It may be recalled here that State Government has entrusted the management of these centres to Karvy.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Saturday, Venkateswarlu, Manager, Chittoor mee seva centre admitted to the shortage of staff besides other burning problems like poor amenities. “We are attending to our work with skeletal staff. As AP online services was introduced, our significance has come down.
The outsourcing employees working in Government departments used to get minimum salaries for Rs.20,000 per month. Whereas the employees of mee seva earn below Rs.10,000 per month” he declared. He appealed to the government to regularise their services on par with state government employees”. Mean while, the management has terminated the security guards of these centres.
