28 US cos ready for business in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati: As many as 28 IT service companies evinced interest to start their operations in Amaravati and Visakhapatnam. Also, Dell formally accepted to start its data centre in the state. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu received not only a grand welcome at the Dallas Airport but also got tremendous support from IT companies to start their operations in the state.

As part of his US trip, the Chief Minister visited Dallas on Saturday and attended the NRT community dinner and other meetings. The Telugu Diaspora extended a grand reception to him at the Dallas airport from where he drove to the meeting venue to meet Srikanth Satya, executive of Dell. Dell has expressed interest to setup a data centre in Amaravati.

Later, the Chief Minister held a meeting with the Director of Bell Helicopters, wherein the possibilities of establishing manufacturing facilities in Andhra Pradesh were discussed. The Chief Minister suggested to him to visit Andhra Pradesh for discussions with the officials. Besides, 28 IT service companies have also come forward to start their operations in Andhra Pradesh. Premier IT solutions, GlobalOutlook, Tekpros and Arcus Technologies are a few among them. These companies will lease space in Visakhapatnam and Amaravati providing employment to professionals in those units.

Naidu in his address to these companies said he is happy to see the conglomeration of US’ Telugu entrepreneurs. He said most of the people who are now in the US came with an idea to be professionals and now they have become entrepreneurs. Later the Chief Minister visited the Silicon Andhra University during which he said the programmes taken up by the University will remain in history forever. Besides protecting the cultural heritage of Telugus, the works of the university are enhancing the might of the Telugus, he added.

Not just in Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister hoped, that every Telugu household in the US should have a computer literate, an entrepreneur and a Kuchipudi dancer. For the establishment of Amaravati School of Telugu linguistics in the University of Silicon Andhra, the Chief Minister sanctioned a sum of Rs 6 crore. He urged the Telugus to mingle with the local communities and earn their confidence.

Besides complimenting them for their active participation in smart village, smart ward programme, the Chief Minister requested them not to forget their birthplace and their native village. He said that the skills and knowledge acquired by the Telugus here will be very useful for the development of Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister asked them to start their operations in Andhra Pradesh initially and expand to others parts of India later. I want Indians to be in the forefront in the world and among them Telugus should be the foremost, that’s my dream, the Chief Minister said. The Chief Minister then drove down to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Plaza in Dallas to pay his obeisance to the father of the nation with a garland.
