Vijayawada: HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao announced the EdCET results here on Monday.Andhra University conducted the examination on April 19 to fill 45,000 seats in 508 colleges in the state. In all 8,785 candidates applied for the examination and 7,152 candidates attended.The HRD minister said that 7,010 candidates qualified in the test with a pass percentage of 98.01. The minister said that the classes would commence in the last week of June. He informed that 1709 candidates qualified in Mathematics, 1,451 qualified in Biological Science, 763 in Physical Science, 2,684 for Social Studies and 403 for English.

The minister said that there were many colleges in the state without proper infrastructure facilities. He further said that there are a few colleges only for the name sake. The minister further said that action would be taken on those institutions which have no basic facilities and address. The HRD minister also announced Polycet results at the State Guest House here on Monday. He said that 1,22,960 candidates attended the examination of which 96,155 qualified.He said that in all 78.20 percent qualified in the examination. First rank was secured by A Sai Praveen Gupta, while P Madhu Murali Krishna and V Bavahar were second and third, respectively.

The minister said that all three top ranks were secured by students from East Godavari and added that girls topped with 82.84 pass percentage.Releasing LAWCET results, the HRD minister said 5,826 candidates appeared for 3-year LLB course and 4,788 qualified thus recording a pass percentage of 82. Sri Krishnadevaraya University conducted the LawCET at 35 centres in the state on April 19.He informed that 1,265 candidates appeared for 5 years LLB and 1087 candidates have qualified recording a pass percentage of 85.

He said that 333 candidates appeared for 2- year PG LLM course and 320 candidates qualified thus registering a pass percentage of 96.The minister announced the names of toppers in the 3 years course. K Sree Lakshmi got the first rank in the state while the second rank was bagged by Gouthami Surapareddy. The third rank was secured by G Satyam Naidu.
In the 5 years course, the topper was P Geethika. The second rank was secured by M Sisira Reddy and the third rank by Manasa S Venkatachalam. In the 2-year PG LLM course, the topper was J Lakshmi Charan and the second and third ranks were bagged by K Sai Subha Sri and Marripati Sruthi respectively.
