CPM demands regularisation of electricity contract staff

Vijayawada: CPM state secretary Penumalli Madhu demanded that the state government should regularise electricity department contract workers and Asha workers, who were working at electricity and health departments for the last 10 years.
He added that about 23,000 workers have been working at electricity department and about 40,000 Aasha workers have been working at village level.
The CPM leader wrote a letter to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the same released to media here on Monday.
He reminded that the TDP in its election manifesto assured of regularising electricity contract workers and ignored after voted to power.
