Machilipatnam (Krishna): Krishna district collector B Lakshmi Kantham on Monday directed the officials to serve memos to the 186 officials for not attending the Meekosam Grievances programme on time. He took serious view of the late attendance of the officials and decided to take action for the delay. The collector verified online attendance and identified as many as 186 officers had not attended the grievance programme at Machilipatnam, the district headquarter on Monday, where he received representations from people.

He identified that almost all departmental officers had neglected the grievances programme and came late. Hence, memos to 31 Tahsildars, 28 Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDO), 26 Panchayat Raj department officers, 19 Sub treasury staff, 24 Medical and Health officers, seven Mandal Education Officers (MEO), 34 Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Extension Officers (EO PR&RD), 13 CDPOs, four agricultural and another four horticultural officers were issued.

Later, he organised a meeting with district level officers and said that every officer should attend Meekosam grievances meeting on every Monday sharp at 10 am. If any officer fails to attend grievances severe action would be taken, he warned. At every stage grievances should be conducted morning at 10 am and receive representations from people, he added.
He personally questioned several district level officers for coming late to grievances. “It is first and last warning to all, any officer or departmental staff makes a mistake I cannot tolerate”, he said.

Moreover he said that every officer and staff should maintain time sense. He made it clear that on every Monday officers should not conduct meetings and not go to camps. He felt dissatisfaction over pending grievances of Janmabhoomi which were came in the month of January. He praised housing department project director for resolving Janmabhoomi grievances.
He further directed that Vigilance and Enforce department officers would conduct raids on lapses of quality at various departments and book criminal cases against concern persons.

Collect said that every officer should learn how to behave in video conference and he angry on Nandivada Mandal officer for they were discussing with each other in video conference.He informed that special training would be conducted for district level officers on employees’ transfers. Five years completed officers, staff should move to another place, he ordered. A district level committee would be formed with Joint Collector, DRDA Project Director and Panchayat Raj Superintendent (SE) for scrutiny of transfer applications he added.
