Set up women protection forums in all govt offices: WG Collector
West Godavari district collector K Bhaskar directed officials to set up women protection forums in all the Government offices in the district.Addressing the district officers’ coordination committee meeting held here on Monday, he said that the women protection forum would deal with the harassment of women employees in the government offices.
Eluru: West Godavari district collector K Bhaskar directed officials to set up women protection forums in all the Government offices in the district.Addressing the district officers’ coordination committee meeting held here on Monday, he said that the women protection forum would deal with the harassment of women employees in the government offices. Every three months the forum would meet and discuss the problems and complaints received from the women. He said that the protection forum would have two women employees as its members.
It has to monitor the departments to stop the harassments against the women employees, he added. The collector directed the officials to implement the desk officer system to extend quicker services to the people in all the government offices. He said if any official applied for leave, another link officer should take the duty to clear the grievances of the public.
The collector expressed angry over the police officials who did not register the FIRs in many cases. He said that even as he had directed them to register cases, no action had been initiated.
