AP Federation of Petroleum Dealers' Association president Ravi Gopala Krishna said that as many as 2,750 petrol bunks would be closed on every Sunday from May 14. He said from May 15, the petrol bunks will work from 6 am to 6 pm.

Speaking to reporters, he said that the oil companies during the last year had accepted their demands but failed to implement their demands including commission hike. He said that staff salaries, electricity bills and maintenance expenses are all increasing but income on petrol bunks is not increasing proportionately.

He further said that due to increase of petrol bunks the business is coming down. As a result the petrol bunks owners are incurring losses. He said they had already distributed the posters to all the petrol bunks owners to make their protest a success and requested the centre to accept their demands at least now.
