Sajjala name crops up for Nandyal by-election

Kurnool: Several aspirants in the TDP are keen to contest for the Nandyal by-election. So far, the TDP high command did not finalise the candidate. A family member or a relative of Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya is in the race to contest for Nandyal by-election. Even, former Minister and TDP leader Silpa Mohan Reddy is trying his best to get the ticket.

However, the TDP top leadership has reportedly changed its mind with the recent twin murders in Sirvella mandal. For Nandyal by-poll, the TDP wants to field a candidate, who has clean image, without any faction background. Name of Sajjala Sreedhar Reddy, the Managing Director of Nandi Group of Companies, has cropped up for Nandyal by-poll.

It is learnt that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has engaged services of a trustworthy team to study the pulse of the voters of Nandyal and their inclination towards the candidates. The survey has revealed that the voters are more interested in Sajjala Sreedhar Reddy rather than other contestants. A source said that Chandrababu wants to select a candidate for Nandyal by-election, who has a clean record without faction history.

A reliable source said that around 90 per cent of peasants of Nandyal have utilised the services of Nandi Group of Companies. Now, the Nandyal by-election is the apt time for them to repay the services utilised from the group, he stated. Speaking to The Hans India, Sreedhar Reddy said that he met the Chief Minister and urged him to consider his candidature for Nandyal by-poll. He stated that he will develop Nandyal on all fronts if he was given a chance.

“The TDP high command will select the right candidate for Nandyal by-poll,” he said. Recently, Silpa Mohan Reddy stated that he will abide by the decision of the TDP high command. Every candidate, who wants to contest for Nandyal by-poll, has to following the directions of the high command, said Mohan Reddy.
