Vijayawada: Bhavanipuram police arrested six persons who had illegally occupied and sold empty lands with fake documents to others at Gollapudi village and sent them to remand.Addressing the media persons at his chamber here on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (law and order) G Pala Raju said that J Srinivasa Rao (49), M Durga Rao (46), M Rahellu (70), P Ruthu (40), J Karuna (38) and A Sunitha (30) had illegally occupied nearly 900 square feet open land at UDA layout in Gollapudi village and they had also developed the land with soil for selling others.
He mentioned that the accused people threatened land owner Ch Haribabu while he was questioning them regarding sale of his land to B Jaya Ramakrishna (64) with fake documents. “Ch Haribabu was living in Khammam district and he had purchased 197 square feet open land from S Pichiaiah in 1988. Later, he had registered his land at Vijayawada Sub Register office along with others who had bought land from Pichiaiah,” he added.
He said that the people who had purchased the land from Pichiaiah were living at different places in the state. “Accused persons got Rs 3 lakh from Jaya Ramakrishna as an advance regarding fake documents of land. Police department would take serious action on land grabbers who were trying to sell others' properties with fake documents,” he added.
