The United States India Business Council (USIBC) presented ‘Transformative Chief Minister’ award to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. 

Amaravati: The United States India Business Council (USIBC) presented ‘Transformative Chief Minister’ award to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Cisco world head John Chambers presented the award to the Chief Minister on the occasion of USIBC second anniversary on Monday. Thanking the organizers for the award, Chandrababu Naidu said the honour goes to entire AP.

He appealed to the entrepreneurs in the US to set up their units in the state-- a land of opportunities. He said that he had taken initiative to invite several global companies to Hyderabad in the past.

Stating that AP has vast natural resources including human resources, the Chief Minister said AP would emerge as one among three top states in the country by 2022. He said AP has been fast growing in several sectors including ports and airports.

Three industrial corridors and two coastal economic zones will be coming up in the state soon. He said priority is being given to infra projects. AP has emerged as a power surplus state within three months. He said 4,600MW of solar and wind power would be produced soon.

The Chief Minister said Telugu people settled in US should emerge as prospective entrepreneurs and make investments in the state. He said AP would be developed as a knowledge hub with setting up of national and international educational institutions.

He said aero space defence sector would be developed in Visakhapatnam, Chittoor, Nellore, Anantapur and Kurnool districts. Textile and pharma sectors would be encouraged.

Stating that both the US and India have been extending mutual cooperation in several sectors, the CM invited the US entrepreneurs to invest in AP.
