Visakhapatnam: The online Andhra Pradesh Post Graduation Common Entrance Test (APPGCET)-2017 for admission into post graduate courses like M E / M Tech / M Pharm, which began across the state on Wednesday, registered 90.97 per cent of attendance.

Andhra University is conducting the test on behalf of AP State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) in 14 subjects. AU vice-chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao released the password for the morning test, while the registrar Prof V Umamaheswara Rao released the password for afternoon tests. Speaking on the occasion, CET convener Prof P S Avadhani informed that the test was held in 39 centres and also at a centre in Hyderabad.

He said the results would be declared on May 18. Of the 54 candidates applied for geo-engineering and geo-informatics, 42 candidates have attended registering 77.77 per cent, of 5,714 candidates applied for M Pharmacy, 5,447 attended registering 95.32 per cent and of 3,659 candidates applied for computer science information technology, 3087 attended registering 84.36 per cent.

He said the tests would be continued up to May 12 and the candidates could download the rank cards from May 20. Principals Prof D E Babu, T Subrahmanyam, D Gauri Sankar, Deans K Niranjan, director of admissions K Rajendra Prasad and vice principal M S P Babu were present.
