BJP pushing for parallel polls with ulterior motives
CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudharkara Reddy alleged that the BJP was trying to manipulate politics by holding simultaneous polls for Assembly and Parliament. He stated that it was not good for the country as perception of votes change from state and union polls.

Addressing media conference at the CPI state office, Suravaram said that BJP was trying to implement one elections, one country and one religion agenda. He said that the Left parties would not encourage one nation and one religion agenda.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced that a survey results showed that BJP would be benefited if simultaneous elections be held to Assembly and Parliament,” he stated and questioned what would be the guarantee that people vote for the same party in the elections every time.
He alleged the BJP resorted to manipulative politics in Goa and Manipur after the elections in the two states recently.
He said the BJP got absolute majority in UP Assembly polls even though it got only 39.6 percent votes and BSP got only 7 seats in spite of getting 22 percent vote share.Referring to situation in J&K, the Left leader said that terrorism has increased in post encounter of Burhan Vani. “BJP should find an amicable solution to check violence and terrorism in the Valley. Article 370 should be continued as usual,” he opined.
He felt the disputes might break out between Central government and the states after implementation of GST from July 2017. Asked about the CPI stand on election of new president, he said the Left parties are holding discussions with other Opposition parties and no decision was taken yet.
