Improving amenities in pilgrim city top priority: New civic chief
C Hari Kiran assumed office as the commissioner of Tirupati Municipal Corporation (TMC) and Vice-Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) here on Wednesday. Hari Kiran took charge from in-charge commissioner Madhavi Latha. Speaking to the media, the TMC chief said his top priority is to improve amenities in pilgrim city.
Tirupati: C Hari Kiran assumed office as the commissioner of Tirupati Municipal Corporation (TMC) and Vice-Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) here on Wednesday. Hari Kiran took charge from in-charge commissioner Madhavi Latha. Speaking to the media, the TMC chief said his top priority is to improve amenities in pilgrim city. He stated that he would understand the functioning of the TUDA and TMC before embarking on implementing projects. He assured of bringing new projects to Tirupati under smart city corporation.

“I will look into the projects which were pending at Detailed Project Report (DPR) stage,” he added. The new commissioner assured of keeping pilgrim city clean. “I will ensure to improve position of Tirupati in Swachh Survekshan rankings,” he said.
A team of public health officials will be sent to cities like Visakhapatnam and Kakinada for studying best practices adopted by those cities in sanitation. In the afternoon, commissioner held a review meeting with all civic officials in his chamber on pending issues. Earlier, Hari Kiran visited all the departments of corporation.
