Hundreds of women pilgrims enthusiastically took part in chariot pulling fete which commenced by 8.15am and lasted for about an hour.

Speaking on this occasion, TTD executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal said as a part of the auspicious Vasantotsavam the procession of golden Ratham (chariot) was observed on Wednesday.

TTD JEO P Bhaskar said the very glimpse of Goddess on mighty chariot brings prosperity to devotees. Meanwhile, as a part of the festivities on the second day of Vasantotsavam, processional deities were taken t in a procession to ‘Sukravarapu Thota’ where the priests amidst chanting of hymns performed ‘Snapana Tirumanjanam (celestia; bath)’ to the deities, in the evening after the procession on gold chariot.
