Vijayawada: Water resources minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao and transport minister K Atchannaidu made a scathing attack on Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy for his Delhi tour. They alleged that Jagan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi with personnel agenda seeking relief from CBI and other cases. They took strong exception over Jagan’s announcement on support to NDA in President elections.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Devineni said that Jagan was acting like a chameleon in Delhi.
“It is clearly political bankruptcy to support NDA in President elections, while saying that he oppose the stand of Centre on Special Category to AP and land acquisition issues,” Uma said.

Uma also said he held protest in support of Chilli farmers in Guntur but praised Union government for its announcement on giving Rs 5,000 as subsidy to farmers. “It is exposing his double standards on state issues. His intention is clear. He wants to get relief from CBI and ED cases and that’s why he met Prime Minister,” Uma averred.

“Jagan, who was in jail for 16 months for indulging in corruption, has no moral right to criticise Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is striving to bring foreign investments to State. We will not spare him, he will go to jail,” Uma stated.Transport minister Atchannaidu asked how Jagan would support NDA as he had criticised Telugu Desam Party saying gross injustice was done to minorities because of tie-up with BJP in the last elections.

“Jagan made statements on his support to NDA in President elections but he did not reveal his secret deliberations in Delhi” he said.“He did not ask Prime Minister for Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh but requested to free him from CBI cases” he alleged. He expressed doubts over the existence of YSR Congress in the next elections.
“Jagan may merge his party with another national party by the next elections” he said.
