PCC Chief N Raghuveera Reddy said that they would fight with tooth and nail to realise the promises made by TDP and BJP after bifurcation of the state.
Nellore: PCC Chief N Raghuveera Reddy said that they would fight with tooth and nail to realise the promises made by TDP and BJP after bifurcation of the state.
Taking part in a workshop organised by the district unit of the party, here on Wednesday, he informed that would organise a huge public meeting in June along with leaders from 14 political parties across the country to divulge failures of the ruling TDP government.
He appealed to the leaders and activists of the Congress party to make the membership campaign successful. Later, interacting with media persons, Raghuveera alleged that TDP and BJP governments were in favour of private ports opposing efforts for Dugarajapatnam port proposed to be constructed in Nellore district.
He warned that they would launch an agitation demanding construction of Dugarajapatnam port on war footing, besides fulfilling poll promises made by the TDP and BJP governments to the truncated state after bifurcation.
He asserted that Congress party would fight for special category status to the state. He informed that after completion of membership drive, elections for various institutions would be held from May 15 to AICC. “Former Union minister K.H.Muniyappa would act as returning officer for elections across the state,” he added.
DCC president Panabaka Krishnaiah said that leaders and party workers from mandal level have actively been participating in Congress party programmes. He appealed to the mandal level leaders to make the membership drive a successful activity in the district.
Congress senior leaders CV Sesha Reddy, Udatha Venkat Rao, Chenchal babu Yadav, M.Sridhar Reddy, Raghuram Mudiraj, and others were present.
