Rajamahendravaram: The Registrar of Adikavi Nannaya University, Prof A Narasimha Rao resigned from his post amidst reports of a rift with the Vice-Chancellor Prof M Muthyala Naidu.
It may be recalled that Prof Narasimha Rao had made allegations against the VC that a large scam had taken place in the University in assigning a contract to Bengaluru- based IT company SIRT for automation of examination system in the university.
He alleged that all the norms were violated in assigning contract to SIRT and his allegations were condemned by the senior faculty of the university. He said he did also write a letter to the state government demanding an inquiry into the matter.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Naidu held a press conference in the University campus on Friday and made it clear that there is no truth in the rumours making rounds and no financial transactions had taken place.
He mentioned that all the decisions are being made with the approval of EC members of the university. He explained the whole process of automation with evidences and added that the registrar has informed the Chief Minister’s office and other higher authorities with regard to the automation.
He maintained that he has met the principal secretary and other officials with all the evidences as per the directions of the higher authorities.
He further said that he has explained the whole process on the automation which took place from March 10 to April 10.
He mentioned that APSHE Chairman Prof. S. Vijayaraju and Vice-chairman Narasimha Rao had visited the University on Thursday and conducted inquiry in which university authorities were given a clean chit. Later, he said that the registrar has tendered his resignation.
He called upon everyone to ascertain the truth about the issue of the university which is only 12 years old.
