BJP MLC Somu Veerraju strongly criticised the TD leaders’ comments over YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Speaking to media persons at R& B guesthouse here on Thursday, Veerraju wondered how this meeting is so crucial to comment on the issue. He observed that Jagan is leader of Opposition in the state and his party MLA holds the PAC chairman post.

Commenting on number of charge-sheets pending against Jagan as remarked by TD leaders, the BJP leader said that there were several other leaders also who facing charge-sheets in connection with different cases. The senior BJP leader questioned the TD leaders whether they would have made such comments if Jagan had met the President of India.
He alleged that the TD government was taking credit for the schemes of NDA government as their own and is nowhere mentioning the name of BJP or NDA. Commenting on Neeru-Chettu programme he observed that during 2016-17 an amount of Rs 25 crore had been spent out of Rs 100 crore sanctioned for East Godavari.
In financial year 2017-18, an amount of Rs 175 crore has been sanctioned and works of digging ponds, desilting of water tanks were going on at different places.In this aspect, the local leaders in different villages were selling the soil generated from desilting of tanks.
Veerraju said that the BJP would play a role of watchdog on these activities from this week and would not allow the corrupt practices of TD leaders who are making a lot of money by selling the soil ignoring its social purpose. BJP district unit president Y Malakondayya, party leaders P Ravi Kiran, Dilip Kumar Sadanni and others participated in the press conference.
