The project was first scheduled to be completed by 2015 end and later rescheduled to 2016 and later June 2017 but the works are still going on in the last stretch of the project i.e., in between V Kota and Palamaner where the Collector inspected the works on Friday.

- Directs officials to supply drinking water through hired tankers in villages falling under V Kota mandal
The Collector accompanied by HNSS project officials and revenue authorities began his hectic three-hour-long inspection with the visit of the spot on the national highway where HNSS Kuppam Canal work is pending near V Kota where the canal has to pass under the road and wanted the officials to expedite the works. He also inspected Krishnapuram pumping station works and also the canal works at several places including Thotakanuma before reaching Palamaner.
At Thotakanuma, a 1.5 km long aqueduct is in the final stage of construction to carry waters to Kuppam area, the final destination of the 127-km-long Kuppam branch canal. Pradyumna directed the officials to gear up to see that all the pending works on both Punganur branch canal and Kuppam branch canal be completed by July to enable the dedication of HNSS canals to the nation in August, this year.
The Collector took the occasion to interact people at many places in V Kota mandal where people complained of severe water problem upon which he directed the officials to make arrangement for supply of drinking water through tankers in the localities facing severe water problem.
