As many as six pickpockets wandered around the house of former MLA and YSRCP leader Grandhi Srinivas and picked around Rs.70,000 from the pockets of the party workers. This happened in the compound of former MLA Grandhi Srinivas’s house situated in One Town area of Bhimvar
Bhimavaram: It’s festival time for a pickpocket when hundreds of people gather at a place where a VIP like YSRCP President Jagan visits. As many as six pickpockets wandered around the house of former MLA and YSRCP leader Grandhi Srinivas and picked around Rs.70,000 from the pockets of the party workers. This happened in the compound of former MLA Grandhi Srinivas’s house situated in One Town area of Bhimvaram town.

The YSRCP President and Opposition leader reached Bhimavaram town in West Godavari district on Saturday and went to former MLA Grandhi Srinivas’s house. He blessed Sagar, son of Grandhi Srinivas and daughter-in-law Sudha who were just married. During Jagan’s visit, hundreds of workers reached Srinivas house to wish the party supremo. However, the top leaders of Bhimavaram town allowed only the main activists.
As hundreds of workers remained outside the house, the pickpockets entered into the crowd to do their job. Some workers entered the compound by jumping the wall of the former MLA’s house. The pickpockets also entered into the compound and went about their business.One pickpocket was caught by a worker when he tried to cut his pocket in the crowd. He handed him to police who were on duty.
Meanwhile, three YSRCP workers complained to the police that their pockets were picked and an estimated Rs.70,000 was lost to the handiwork of the pickpocket. One town police have nabbed the pickpocket who was caught by the YSRCP worker. He was identified as Pandati Yesu (20) of Amalapuram and the police are interrogating him to elicit more information about other pickpockets.
