RDT Prathyusha rendered a Bharatanatyam performance and enthralled the audience at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) on Thursday evening. The dance programme was organised by the CCVA and Natyaswara, under the monthly Dance Programme series ‘Natyasravanti’ said the CCVA CEO Dr E Sivanagi Reddy.

Reddy said that the chief guest of the programme was Miss India USA- 2014 and Kathak dancer Pranathy Sharma who also inaugurated the programme. He said that Bharatanatyam Dance is an essential facet of Indian Sculpture and Complimented Prathyusha for her excellent performance.

Prathyusha a disciple of Laxmi Venkatesh Dubam and Tamanna Nair of Mumbai, performed four dance items. The first was Ganapathy Kautham in nattairaga and Chaturasra Eka tala in praise of Ganesa. The second one she performed was Tharangam of Narayana Thirtha called ‘Alokaye Sakhi’ in Raga Malika and Thalamalika describing the beauty of Little Krishna playing Brindavam.

The third dance she staged was purandara dasa kirthana ‘Gummana Karayidire’ in Thilang rag and Adi talam which narrates Little Krishna who steels butter from Gopi’s. The last and the fourth dance item she performed was Kshetrayya Padam in Sureeti Ragam and Mirra chapu talam. The padam was based on Satyabhama as a Khandita Nayika taunting Krishna who visited her house untimely.

The artist received great applause from the audience. Principal of Bharatiya school of fine arts, Padmasri Hemanth, complimented the Artist and wished her a bright future. Founder and Chief Mentor CCVA Y Harish Chandra Prasad, felicitated the Chief Guest Pranathy Sharma and the dancer Prathyusha.
