Nunna villagers expressed their gratitude to the former District Collector Babu A by naming a road after his name for taking initiative for laying the road, which was in a bad condition. Now, the new road is named as ‘Collector Babu Road’. The road was proposed by former Collector and constructed at a cost of Rs 54 lakh last year.

Gannavaram MLA Dr Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan inaugurated ‘Collector Babu Road’ at Nunna on the outskirts of Vijayawada on Saturday.Prior to the inauguration of the road , the local MLA distributed bicycles to girl students under ‘Badikosta’ scheme at Nunna Zilla Parishad High School. MLA Vamsi disclosed that the government was planning to implement free bus service to the government school students.


The MLA said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had discussed with the MLCs and MLAs on the innovative scheme of plying buses for government schoolchildren for attracting them to government schools.Vamsi urged the parents to send their children to the government schools to get quality education free of cost. “Government providing free education, free books, free uniform and mid-day meals to students, he added.

Vijayawada Mandal Parishad President (MPP) V Jagan Mohana Rao, vice-president J Srinivasa Rao, Nunna Sarpanch K Vijay Kumar, mandal educational officer (MEO) JNV Prasad and others participated.
