MP Butta Renuka assures to resolve drinking water shortage

Addressing the leaders of various political parties, Renuka said not only Kodumur but entire district is facing water shortage especially during summer.

Kodumur (Kurnool): YSRCP MP Butta Renuka assured people of providing a permanent solution to drinking water scarcity. The MP participated in an all-party meeting held at Mandal Parishad Development Office (MPDO) here on Saturday. Addressing the leaders of various political parties, Renuka said not only Kodumur but entire district is facing water shortage especially during summer.

She lamented that Handri river has dried up which was the main source for supplying drinking water to Kodumur. The MP said that she has been trying to resolve drinking water shortage and unemployment issues. “But, central and state governments are not heeding to me as I am representing the opposition party,” she added.

Renuka said she will make efforts for laying a pipeline to connect Kodumur with Gajula Dinne Project (GDP) with a cost of Rs 56 crore for meeting drinking water needs to some extent. On the occasion, she gave a call to leaders of all political parties to join hands for the development of Kodumur. The MP said an all-party delegation should meet the Chief Minister and represent problems faced by Kodumur.

CPM leader Somanna, CPI leader Krishna, YSRCP leader Kothakota Prakash Reddy, BJP leaders Krishna Reddy, Linga Reddy and Mallesh, Soma Sekhar Yadav of Aam Aadmi Party and other leaders took part in the meeting.
