Asst engineer from K’taka drowns in River Krishna

Vijayawada: Karanataka State Ballari Thermal Power Station assistant engineer MR Ravi Kumar drowned in the River Krishna while having a bath. He came to Vijayawada for a week-long training programme with his colleagues Sumith and T S Prathap in VTPS.
According to Bhavanipuram police station, Ravi Kumar and his friends went to Punnami Ghat for bathing on Sunday morning but he met a watery grave as he was trapped in deep waters. Sumith and Prathap tried to save Ravi Kumar through a rope but in vain. Later, the fishermen retrieved the body from the river and shifted to the Vijayawada New Government General Hospital.
