Kurnool: Superintendent of Police, Ake Ravi Krishna said that every kid from childhood itself has to practice self defence courses like Karate and Kung Fu. He arranged an appreciation program to Karate kids who won trophies at various events at Command Control Room on Sunday. Later speaking on the occasion, Ravi Krishna said now a days it is every important for girl children to learn self defense courses with which they can protect themselves from roadside Romeos.

He said that every Karate learning kid has to take Keerthana as their inspiration. Keerthana who is the daughter of a Sub Inspector, A Jayanna, presently working at Nandyal, has won several medals. He said Keerathana has participated in State level, National level and International Level championship Karate events and won gold and silver medals. She is now going to represent India at International Karate competitions that are going to be held at Kathmandu in Nepal on May 19&20, he stated.

He appealed all the girl children to practice Karate courses so that they can defend themselves. Karate will enhance self confidence besides courage. Karate will help the students to concentrate on studies besides encourage them to lead a disciplined life, he stated. On this occasion, Ravi Krishna arranged a get together programme and dined with the Karate kids. He appreciated Karate Master Fayaz who has trained Keerathana.
