Visakhapatnam: The district administration is making all out efforts to open Aircraft Museum on August 15. District collector Pravin Kumar held a meeting with the AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) and local officials and reviewed the progress of the museum and tourism mega complex in his chambers on Monday.

He asked the officials to complete the museum within 45 days, which would likely cost Rs 10 crore, so that it could be opened to public on August 15. As the Andhra University was yet to hand over the land for the museum, the collector called varsity registrar Prof V Umamaheswara Rao over phone and asked him to complete the process and hand over the land to the AP Tourism Development Corporation, immediately.

The collector told the executive director APTDC M Sriramulu Naidu to begin dismantling of the aircraft from Wednesday and prepare the ground for the mega tourism complex.The complex will have AU Convention Hall, INS Kursura submarine museum, Victory at Sea and Aircraft Museum. The collector asked the vice chairman of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority P Basanth Kumar to invite tenders for the mega complex.
