Durga Prasad said that a survey conducted by DBRC and Action Aid found out that very few families were getting 100-day employment. “We have surveyed about 24, 000 families and of them 12,000 only were getting employment,” he informed.
Stating that on an average only 500 families were getting 100-day employment, he rued delay in payments. “Union government decided to pay Rs 197 per day to NREGS workers, but at present each family is getting only Rs.136 per day, which is not sufficient,” he noted. He alleged that state government stopped payment of NREGS wages.
