Atmakur (Kurnool): A group of 400 devotees and disciples of Swayamtatva Kadalivana Siddeswara Swami of iddaramapuram in neighbouring Karnataka visited the Nagaluti Veerabhadraswamy temple through the steps route on Monday and performed various rituals --homam, archana, abhishekam -- to the presiding deity.

In all, 200 women carrying kalasams on their head undertook padayatra from the pushkara koneru to the temple undertaking a two-km-long padayatra. The disciples of Siddeswara Swami went on record stating that it was 130 years ago that their guru had performed yaga and tapas in the region at Srisailam, Umamaheswaram, Kadalivanam, Akka Mahadevi caves, Boramma Cheruvu, where the Maratha ruler Sivaji had the darshan of Goddess Bhramaramba. They distributed new clothes among the Chenchu tribals for extending hospitality to their guru.
