The two-day Assembly session on GST begins on Tuesday at Velagapudi. Talking to newsmen at the R and B Guest house, Jaganmohan Reddy said the YSRCP legislature party which met here on Monday decided to stall the proceedings protesting against the failure of the TDP government to protect the interests of farmers.

He said farmers of the state had been facing many hardships due to lack of remunerative price for chillies, turmeric, black gram, red gram and other crops.He said the farmers were in deep distress due to falling of prices. Jagan said the YSRCP is not against the GST and would support the passing of bill. He said the TDP had promised to form price stabilisation fund with Rs 5,000 crore to save the farmers in times of crises and failed to fulfill the promise.

Referring to his meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, Jagan said that he discussed various issues like Special Category Status to AP, AgriGold case, farmers’ problems and other political issues. He said the TDP is making it a big on his meeting with the Prime Minister.

He said Prime Minister is the top leader of the country and so he met him to inform the problems of Andhra Pradesh.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi became untouchable to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu after he met the former in New Delhi. He questioned what was wrong in meeting the Prime Minister.

He claimed that as the Opposition Leader of the state, he has the right to meet the Prime Minister. Referring to social media and arrest of a techie in the state, he said the TDP is resorting to intimidation tactics to create panic and was arresting people for social media posts.
