​Vijayawada: Keeping in view the steep rise in day temperatures and abnormal relative humidity conditions prevailing in the state, the government is geared up to meet any kind of exigency/challenge to provide 100% interruption-free power supply to the consumers.

As part of this, energy minister K Kala Venkata Rao has directed the power utilities to initiate all possible measures to meet the daily grid demand and take up restoration works consequent to any breakdowns/outages on a war-footing basis, so as to cause least/negligible inconvenience to the consumers.

The minister on Friday reviewed the district-wise power supply position and certain isolated incidents of tripping of EHT lines which caused some inconvenience to the consumers in north coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Vishakhapatnam and East Godavari, on Friday with K Vijayanand, Chairman & Managing Director of APTranco & MD/APgenco, Nagarajaswamy, Director, Grid Operation, and Superintending Engineer, Grid Operations, Bhaskar.

He directed the officials of discoms to review the power supply position on a daily basis and take corrective measures wherever required and conduct substation-level / district-level meetings with the local representatives.

The Chief Minister who is committed to provide uninterrupted power supply to the consumers directed the power utilities to prepare a contingency action plan to meet the unexpected increase in the grid demand due the prevalent conditions of heat wave and strengthening of the system, until completion of Rohini Karthe, said Kala Venkata Rao.
