Visakhapatnam: Sri Gayatri Welfare and Cultural Youth Academy observed the 26th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as Anti-Terrorism Day on Sunday by paying rich tributes to the great leader.In a unique way, Academy president R Ravi Kumar organised the event by launching a summer water kiosk with the supply of ORS mineral water to beat the heat near Zilla Praja Parishad. KGH superintendent Dr A Arjuna opened the water kiosk after garlanding the portrait of Rajiv.
He appealed to the public to take ORS water to avoid sunstroke. He said that terrorism of any form should be suppressed adding that the great leader Rajiv had lost his life in a suicide bomb attack in Tamil Nadu which was very unfortunate. Rajiv Gandhi Human Service Awardee R Ravi Kumar said that Rajiv Gandhi was the architect of the IT revolution in the country. Andhra University teacher Prof Pulla Rao, O Albert, academy members D Tirumala Rao, Dorababu, Satya Srinivas, Rajesh, Radhakrishna, D Nani, B Rajendra Prasad and Illapu Srinu were present.
