Tirupati: Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi made untiring efforts to take the country forward and sacrificed his life for the nation, said former MP Chinta Mohan. He paid rich tributes to the departed leader on his 26th death anniversary by garlanding his statue in Tirupati on Sunday. Rajiv was instrumental as Prime Minister in bringing technological revolution in the country. He brought internet, telephone, TV, and mobile phone to every doorstep, he said.

He brought in the special panchayat raj act which gave cheque power to every gram sarpanch. The three tier panchayat raj system was introduced by Rajiv Gandhi only. New education policy and new technical education policy were also implemented during his tenure.

The SC, ST Atrocities Act was also brought by Rajiv Gandhi. Every Congress worker should work with dedication in fulfilling his dreams, said Chinta Mohan.Congress SC cell State Convener Putalapattu Prabhakar, Mahila Congress district president R Sridevi, Sevadal President Santhi Yadav, Savithri Yadav, Bharati, Tejovathi and Muni Lakshmi participated.
