Kakinada: East Godavari BJP unit president Yenimireddy Malakondayya said that in total, 10,000 BJP activists representing polling booth committees in the district will be attending the party president Amit Shah’s meet at Siddardha Medical College grounds in Vijayawada on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, he said that the three-day visit of the party national president has been completed successfully in Telangana and they are hoping for the same in Andhra Pradesh also.Malakondayya also said that the BJP national president will disclose the details of quantum of assistance extended to Andhra Pradesh in the last two-and-a-half years, including the funds allocated to various projects in the state.

He said besides the national president, prominent party leaders from the state including union minister M Venkaiah Naidu and others will also attend the meeting.Focusing his attention on local issues, he said that despite extending support for uninterrupted power supply for Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation, the local administration failed to continue the supply round the clock.

They cite some reason or the other and failure of transformers as main reason for frequent power shedding.Malakondyaa questioned the people’s representatives and APEPDCL authorities on their inability to maintain transformers to cater to the public needs.

“When assured power supplies are made by Centre, is it not the duty of the local authorities to make arrangements for uninterrupted power supplies?” he questioned.He also alleged large-scale misuse of Kakinada Corporation funds in the maintenance of summer drinking water supply points started at various places in Kakinada city. Party leaders Pedireddy Ravi Kiram, Dilip Savanna and others were present.
