Race for East Godavari TD district chief post :Varupula Raja or Bandaru Satyanandam Rao?
With Jyothula Naveen certain to head East Godavari ZP, the three days TDP Mahanadu which is to commence at Visakhapatnam from Saturday is expected to take some decisions with regard to party affairs in East Godavari.This situation rose due to the reported refusal of present ZP chairman Namana Rambabu to confine himself to his present post and pave way for Naveen who switched his loyalties from YS
Kakinada: With Jyothula Naveen certain to head East Godavari ZP, the three days TDP Mahanadu which is to commence at Visakhapatnam from Saturday is expected to take some decisions with regard to party affairs in East Godavari.
This situation rose due to the reported refusal of present ZP chairman Namana Rambabu to confine himself to his present post and pave way for Naveen who switched his loyalties from YSRC to take the mantle.
It is also said that this decision had been taken by TD leadership as per the assurance given to Jyothula Nehru father of Naveen and Jaggampeta MLA at the time of defecting from YSRC to TDP.Under this backdrop, two names surfaced in the last two days in TD circles for the party district chief post.
These are the four-term MLA and party Kothapeta in charge, Bandaru Satyanandam Rao and DCCB chairman Varupula Raja.
Staunch supporter of Namana Rambabu and Polavaram ZPTC member Perabattula Rajasekhar and Kapu Corporation director Yerra Venugopal Rayudu observed that generally there is no second thought once a decision is taken by party leadership and we all have to abide by it .
On the other hand some senior leaders are of the opinion that Namana Rambabu with his open defying of the party leadership’s decision may not get a second look. Some more say that he will get the chairmanship of a corporation at state level or may be made as one of the secretaries in state party committee.
When contacted both Bandaru Satyanandam Rao and Varupula Raja said that they will abide by the decision of the party leadership but will not try to canvass for the post. Now all eyes are turned towards Visakhapatnam, the venue of three- day TD Mahanadu for a final decision on East Godavari party chief selection.
