Demands revival of half-yearly tax system

The leaders stated that the corporation has issued the property, water tax notices in English, which the poor and uneducated people cannot read. They criticised that on one hand the government made statements that it was implementing Telugu in all departments, whereas the corporation was clinging to English.

CPM city secretary GVL Narasimha Rao mocked that the government’s words were only limited to media, whereas there was no implementation of Telugu. He pointed out that the corporation has issued notices in Telugu until last year and now it has to issue notices in English.

The other leaders P Kishore, Mavuri Srinivas Rao also expressed concern over the English demand notices.
