Addressing the gathering, Amarnath Reddy made it clear that Nava Nirmana Deeksha is not a political forum. He stated that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been putting relentless efforts for the development of the state. Referring to the development of the district, Amarnath Reddy said that state government has been spending Rs 1,220 crore per annum towards social welfare schemes benefitting 4.2 lakh poor families.

There was an excellent response for Neeru-Chettu, the Minister said and added that the government had spent Rs 450 crore towards the programme till now for improving groundwater levels. He assured of supplying Handri-Neeva water to Kuppam by year end. District Collector PS Pradyumna has explained the progress of various development schemes in the district.

ZP Chairperson Girvani, MLA D A Satyaprabha, MP Dr N Sivaprasad, Mayor Hemalatha, TDP MLC G Srinivasulu, TDP district president P Nani, Joint Collector Girisha, Trainee Collector Keerthi, Municipal Commissioner G Subramanyam, RDO Kodandarami Reddy and other officials were present. Later, the Minister presented the mementos to the APNGO leaders for their active involvement in Jai Andhra agitation, who strongly opposed the bifurcation of the state.

Government employees take pledge

Tirupati: The government employees working in pilgrim city took Nava Nirmana Deeksha pledge in front of the Municipal Corporation office here on Friday. Tirupati Municipal Corporation Commissioner Hari Kiran administered an oath to the employees. On the occasion, the civic officials made live telecast arrangement to view the Chief Minister’s speech from Vijayawada. Tirupati MLA Suguna, town bank chairman P Muralikrishna Reddy, TDP district health wing president Dr R Sudharani and others were present while employees taking the pledge.

TDP govt committed to welfare of poor

Kadapa: Marketing Minister C Adinarayana Reddy said the state government is committed to improve living standards of poor and weaker sections of the society. He urged the people to extend cooperation for effective implementation of social welfare schemes.

The Minister participated in the Nava Nirmana Deeksha held at seven crossroads here on Friday, Addressing a public meeting, Adinarayana Reddy stated that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been fulfilling poll assurances despite state is running with financial deficit. He said that 7.5 lakh families are having white ration cards and pension is being distributed to 2.61 lakh beneficiaries.

The Minister said the government is keen to set up more industries in the district for providing jobs to unemployed. He stated the government is giving top priority for completion of pending irrigation projects in the district. AP State Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman M Linga Reddy, District Collector T Baburao Naidu, Joint Collectors and officials were present.
