Kurnool: Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy gave a call to people to contribute for the development of the state. He administered an oath to the political leaders, officials and people at Nava Nirmana Deeksha meeting held at Raj Vihar Centre here on Friday. Addressing the gathering, Krishnamurthy alleged that the state bifurcation was done unscientifically and the Congress had done great injustice to truncated Andhra Pradesh.

All the efforts made to stop bifurcation have proved futile, he added. Despite of a revenue deficit of Rs 16,000 crore, he said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been making efforts to build capital city Amaravati for Andhra Pradesh. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the district has progressed on all fronts in the last three years. He assured of district overcoming water crisis with the inter-linking of Krishna and Godavari rivers.

The pending irrigation projects would be completed by August end, he added. Rajya Sabha MP TG Venkatesh has appreciated the Chief Minister for his efforts to develop the state. District Collector S Satyanarayana gave a call to people to take part in state development.

Kurnool MLA SV Mohan Reddy, MLC Sudhakar Babu, District Superintendent of Police Ake Ravi Krishna, Joint Collectors Venkata Prasanna and Rama Swamy, former Ministers KE Prabhakar and Erasu Pratap Reddy, DRO Gangadhar Goud, Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Babu, RDO Hussain Saheb and other district officials were present.
