  • Makes it clear that the YSRCP is not against road widening works

Renuka instructed the officials of the KMC to take every one into consideration including college authorities before taking up road widening works. The MP stated that the YSRCP is not against road widening works but it would have been good if the KMC taken permission from the commissionerate of colleges and college administration before demolishing the compound wall. She faulted the KMC Commissioner and the contractor for defying the High Court orders of not to demolish wall.

She opined that the contractor would have constructed the wall from inside first and have had demolished the existing wall based on the outcome of the HC verdict. She said that demolition of wall would impact the KVR College from getting better grade in NAAC inspection.

This is the only women’s college in the entire district in which 2,500 students from poor and weaker sections undergo academic study, she stated. YSRCP Kurnool constituency in-charge Hafeez Khan and leaders of various student unions were present.
