Penumaka villagers on Wednesday staged protests against the forcible land acquisition of Andhra Pradesh government in Guntur.

Approaching the Collector to present their objections against the land acquisition, the farmers stated that even though they were not willing to give their lands, the government forcibly acquitted their lands.

Having already acquired 33,000 acres of land, the state government has now issued land acquisition notices to farmers of all villages except Undavalli.

The Penumaka farmers already appealed in High Court saying that the government had initially informed that land would be taken from the farmers who part voluntarily, however, they are now forcing the farmers.

Stating that there is no accountability or transparency to the land taken from the farmers, they slammed the Joint Collector over her threats that they would face consequences if they don't part with the lands.
