Change of Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s portfolio demanded
Former bureaucrat E A S Sarma demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu change HRD portfolio of Ganta Srinivasa Rao. He reminded that the Minister is the proprietor of Prathyusha Company, which had tried to grab the valuable site of District Grandhalaya Samstha on the pretext of constructing a big commercial complex cum library under the Public-Private-Participation or Build-Operate-Tran
Prathyusha Company cheated govt to grab valuable library site
Visakhapatnam: Former bureaucrat E A S Sarma demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu change HRD portfolio of Ganta Srinivasa Rao. He reminded that the Minister is the proprietor of Prathyusha Company, which had tried to grab the valuable site of District Grandhalaya Samstha on the pretext of constructing a big commercial complex cum library under the Public-Private-Participation or Build-Operate-Transfer mode.
At a meeting organised jointly by the Grandhalaya Seva Samithi and People for India Forum, Sarma alleged that the District Central Library is presently being run in a most pathetic condition after losing its own building. He demanded the government immediately start the building construction. The former bureaucrat flayed that it is illegal that Ganta Srinivasa Rao heading the grandhalaya wing as it has created ‘Conflict of Interest’.
He demanded that the government impose a fine of Rs 5 crore Prathyusha Company. Former Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University Prof K V Ramana said that it is unfortunate to leave the site of District Central Library after demolition of its existing building for the past seven years. The District Library, he said is an important place for the educated unemployed youth and researchers and asked all the likeminded to fight until a new building was constructed.
Former MLC M V S Sarma alleged that Minister Ganta is now again trying to grab the library site expecting that the public have already forgotten the issue and alerted the public to be ready even for a legal fight if necessary. He criticised that Ganta, who had earlier replied in the State Legislative Council, that the construction of library building would begin in three months, but he has completely forgotten the issue.
In a scathing attack against the Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, former Chairman of District Grandhalaya Samstha Thota Nagesh alleged that he had tried to grab the total library site by promising a pucca building for the library. Shifting the library to a mere godown is nothing but to cheat the public, he added.
