Nellore: AP Municipal Minister P Narayana said the per capita income in state which was around Rs. 1.07 lakh during 2015 has been augmented to Rs. 1.22 lakh now. He addressed a programme in connection with the last day of Nava Nirmana Deeksha on Wednesday he said there is a need to improve when compared to many states across the country.

He said that the state government has been striving hard to improve standards of living even though it was facing acute financial crisis at the time of state bifurcation. The minister said the bifurcation process was unscientific which considered only territorial aspects rather than population and revenue facts.

Even though people of 13 districts worked hard for development of the erstwhile capital city of AP there has been no consideration on such issues while separating the Telugu states which impacted the truncated AP in terms of revenue resources, he said.

He appreciated efforts of the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his outlook on developing the state and managing the limited resources for growth of the state. He said attaining 47 awards in various categories from the Centre was a testimony for understanding the working style of the Chief Minister and now growth in the state is double digit with 11.61 pc.

He mentioned about a survey conducted by the World Bank that predicted encouraging scenario in the state for attracting more investments.
