City girl Kazol wins three titles in AP State Ranking TT Tourney
It was triple dhamaka for the city girl and national table tennis player R Kazol in the 1st Andhra Pradesh State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament which was held at Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala (SDMSK) Indoor Stadium in Vijayawada from June 9 to 11.
Jagadeesh wins doubles crown
Vijayawada: It was triple dhamaka for the city girl and national table tennis player R Kazol in the 1st Andhra Pradesh State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament which was held at Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala (SDMSK) Indoor Stadium in Vijayawada from June 9 to 11.
Kazol bagged three titles in the state-level event. She won the women’s title, girls and junior girl’s titles respectively. Guntur boy A Jagadeesh Krishna won the men’s title and boy’s titles respectively.
In women’s finals, national player Kazol beat international player Silu Noor Basha by 11-8, 12-10, 9-11, 11-7 in the tight contest. City TT player Kazol performed well in the 1st ranking and interestingly won three titles. In men’s section, Guntur boy A Jagadeesh Krishna beat D Rahul of Rajamahendravaram by 11-9, 11-4,11-9,11-5 and in boys section, Jagadeesh Krishna beat R Sai Swaroop of Visakhapatnam by 10-12, 11-8, 11-8,11-9.
The three-day state ranking table tennis tournament was held at the SDMSK Indoor Stadium and closing ceremony was held on Sunday. Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) vice-president and Andhra Pradesh Table Tennis Association (APTTA) secretary SM Sultan distributed the prizes to the winners and participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Sultan disclosed that the second ranking tournament would be held at Rajamahendravaram very soon. The dates of 1st National Ranking Table Tennis Tournament would be announced soon, he said. International Table Tennis player and city girl Karanam Spoorthi witnessed mini cadet finals and distributed prizes to winners and runners up.
Krishna District Table Tennis Association president KVS Prakash, secretary K Jayaram, Coaches Y Damodar Reddy, Srinivas, Pandu Ranga Rao and others participated.
