Raghu Engineering College, which was established in 2001 at Dakamarri in Bhimunipatnam mandal, has been conferred with autonomous status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) from the current academic year 2017-18 to 2022-23.

Visakhapatnam: Raghu Engineering College, which was established in 2001 at Dakamarri in Bhimunipatnam mandal, has been conferred with autonomous status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) from the current academic year 2017-18 to 2022-23.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Chairman of Raghu Group of Educational Institutions Raghu Kalidindi said that the college has already having NAAC-A Grade recognition till 2021 and all eligible programmes of the college were accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

Thanking UGC and the JNTU-K for according the autonomous status, the chairman informed that the UGC, after a tho rough examination of the courses being offered, infrastructure, teaching and non-teaching staff, has granted the status increasing the academic responsibility of the college. The autonomous status would allow the college management to design industry-oriented curriculum, introduce new courses and academic programmes, setting up of question papers, conduct of exams, valuation and release of results on its own, he explained.
