Ganta pointed out that ‘Parents Satisfaction and Students First’ is the theme of Education Department of AP.In the wake of reopening of schools for the 2017-18 academic year, the Minister convened a meeting with educational officers of 13 districts in Visakhapatnam on Monday. While addressing the officials, the HRD Minister called upon the DEOs and POs to work hard to meet the expectations of parents.

Ganta said the government has been investing major share of its revenue in the education sector, but the education standards in the government schools were not up to the mark. The teachers in the government schools should take care of the each student and must ensure good educational standards, he added.

The Minister pointed out that Rs 4,000 crore has been released for the academic year 2017-18 to develop the infrastructure facilities in the schools.The funds should be invested to develop the technologies, digital classes, physical education and other infrastructure facilities etc., he directed the officials. The Minister also directed the RTA officials to check the vehicles of the educational institutions and cancel licences of the buses which failed in the fitness tests. Earlier, Education Commissioner Sandhya Rani and Director of SSA G Srinivas explained the activities of their departments.
