Ongole: The Zilla Parishad Chairman of Prakasam district, Edara Haribabu announced that he is ready to continue English medium in ZP schools and will recruit staff if required, even after the government implements rationalisation.

He said, “Education, health, and employment are three important areas every government should concentrate on. As a country, we are in 124th place in these three areas on the global index.

Even after seven decades of independence, we are yet in the elementary stage in the education while comparing to others.
The state government is lacking clarity in the GOs being issued in the name of rationalisation. The government is not taking any initiatives to strengthen the government schools, but confusing the poor people with the GOs.

They are in a dilemma about the continuation of English medium in the government schools and are unable to decide what to do. The Right to Education Act entitles every child to select his interested medium of instruction and the government should provide it.

So we are asking all the parents to join their children in the Zilla Parishad schools demanding English medium now.
We will definitely provide it if the number of students reaches a minimum and recruit required staff members if any to continue the English medium.”
