A team of NITI Aayog members visited Krishnapatnam Port on Monday and conducted aerial survey on the proposed Sagarmala Project. They visited the port and interacted with the officials. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) officials gave power point presentation to the team members about the infrastructure available in the port for taking up the project.

Nellore: A team of NITI Aayog members visited Krishnapatnam Port on Monday and conducted aerial survey on the proposed Sagarmala Project. They visited the port and interacted with the officials. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) officials gave power point presentation to the team members about the infrastructure available in the port for taking up the project.

  • APIIC and port officials, and District Collectors of Nellore and Chittoor explain advantages of Krishnapatnam Port

The port officials said Krishnapatnam region is more convenient for setting up industrial units as it is having transport connectivity through land, sea and air routes. They also discussed on feasibility of coastal economic zone in the state and officials from the Industries department informed about infrastructure and favourable conditions for the zone.

NITI Aayog team also expressed their view about excellent infrastructure in the area is suitable for many projects as they had observed through aerial view. They also impressed with the infrastructure available in the port itself. Aayog committee members Sanjay Gupta, Yaduvendra Mathur, Sudhir Kumar, Atisha Kumar, APIIC chairman P Krishnaiah, APIIC Managing Director Babu, Industries Commissioner Siddarth Jain, Nellore Collector Mutyala Raju, Chittoor Collector PS Pradyumna, Joint Collector of Prakasam Naga Lakshmi, port CEO Y Anil and others were present.
