Srikakulam: In order to prevent land related disputes and possible anomalies, the officials have started adopting a novel method. With the initiation of the Joint Collector K V N Chakradhara Babu, Revenue department officials launched field inspections and started comparing records manually and also on computers, thus making corrections at a brisk pace. In the name of ‘Revenue Samasya-Rythu Gramalu’, the issues are being resolved.

In the wake of number of complaints from the land owners even after their details were put on in public domain on the website ‘Webland’ revenue officials also found mistakes in the records when compared to those on the field.

To rectify these mistakes, a pilot project was launched in the name of ‘Revenue Samasya-Rythu Gramalu’ and it is being implemented in 75 villages covering 10 Assembly segments across the district. Revenue inspectors (RIs), village revenue officers (VROs) and mandal surveyors have been formed as a team and they will visit selected villages in their respective areas and verify details on field and compare with WebLand records in the presence of land owners and rectify records.

Before the launch of the exercise, revenue officials appealed to land owners to apply for rectifications concerning to field measurement book (FMB), mutation, Adangal, 1-B record, survey numbers and sub-divisions. Huge response has been witnessed for it and 50,000 applications have been received so far across the district through Mee Seva centres and government earned Rs 50 lakh revenue through service charges which is a record.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Friday, Joint Collector K V N Chakradhara Babu said that in the entire process, they have linked up records of the survey, revenue and registration departments and integrated them through online to avoid corruption, confusion and mistakes. He said that they would issue e-pattadar pass books after verification. At present, they were not verifying land records as the issue was pending in the court, he added.
