Tirupati: Rayalaseema Porata Samithi Convener P Naveen Kumar Reddy demanded that the central government should exempt the TTD from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as it is not a commercial firm. Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Naveen said that it is unfortunate that Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley categorically stated that the TTD would not get exemption from GST. It is nothing but hurting the sentiments of Hindus. If GST is imposed on TTD, it will increase the prices of Laddu prasadam and rents of cottages. All the items they procure bears the GST and the burden would be on their finances.
