Amaravati: The state is poised to come under a security blanket with the cabinet on Thursday deciding to install an additional 15,000 CCTV cameras in addition to the existing 5,000 cameras with a linkage to fibre grids. Data centres each in Amaravati and Visakhapatnam will be established.

The cabinet meeting decided to announce new liquor policy in the next couple of days.Briefing the media about the cabinet decisions, Minister for Agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that it was resolved to extend the retirement age for the employees working in establishments coming under the purview of the 9th and the 10th Schedule of the AP State Reorganisation Act to 60 years.

Employees working in 89 establishments under 9th Schedule and 10 establishments under 9th Scheduled will be benefited by the cabinet decision. Several primary schools will receive a facelift with the cabinet’s decision to set apart Rs 4,139 crore for the purpose. Provision of toilets, drinking water, electricity, furniture and construction of compound walls will be taken up as per the proposal.

The cabinet decided to allot 3.65 acres located at Atmakur under Mangalagiri mandal to the TDP for building its state office on lease for 99 years for a payment of Rs 1,000 per year for each acre. The government proposed to develop roads with a Hudco loan of Rs 3,000 crore.
